The Central Michagan University Web site, cm-life.com, reports a senior stamp collector is sparking students’ imaginations by giving them stamps.

Brian Wood,95, shown above, gives a local coffee shop thousands of stamps from his personal collection with the goal goal of inspiring young people and making them happy according to an article by Caitlin M. Foyt.

Brian is quoted as saying, “My main purpose is not for the kids to be stamp collectors but to stimulate their creativity…it’s not the rarity or age of the stamps that makes them valuable, it’s the anecdotes that come with each. There’s a story with every stamp, even if you might not know it.”

The coffee shop’s barista, Meghan Borland, says, “It’s cool when people come in and say the different things they do with the stamps. Some people frame them, some people make altered books, some people collage. One girl made a bracelet out of them.”
